Wireless Mobile Utility App Reviews

Make some updates!!!!

I still cant use this app. It keeps telling me Im not connected to wifi when I clearly am. I dont understand Im so frustrated. I even bought a wireless mobile adapter because I thought that was my problem & it doesnt even fit my camera! Uh. I wish it was more user friendly.

App Broken after iOS Update

This app worked flawlessly, but will no longer download photos after the latest iOS 8.3 update.

odd no ipad version

i would love to see the ipad version for my ipad mini 2. the quality is horrible

app doesnt work!

I tried to sync my phone to the camera and it doesnt work. Im so dissatisfied ive decided to return the camera too!

Works, but should be better

This app does what it says, but it should be able to do a lot more, and a lot better. Theres no iPad app, camera seri g cant be changed making it mostly a gimmick, and should be easier to use. If youre looking for an app to take quick picture and get camera photos to youre phone this is great, otherwise its not that great, and not work the $70ish adapter you need for most cameras

Needs recording capability.

The app is usable if you want to take pictures. My big issue with it is that there is no recording function. I want to record videos with my Nikon P610 using this app but I cant. Please add this feature Nikon!

Drops connections with WU-1b

I am not sure whether it is the app or the WU-1b, but connections get dropped within 20 seconds. This makes the pair pretty much unusable.

Seriously?

To anyone who is going to buy a Nikon camera with WiFi: dont waste an extra hundred dollar on a function that is nearly unsupported, does not seem like theyre taking this seriously.

Paired with a d7100 Pure FAIL

NIKON WAKE UP ITS 2015. I Have yet to successfully transfer a single raw image AND the app completely freezes on all I/O from the camera. Nikon this is embarrassing. You got about 6 months or Im switching to Sony mirror less. WAKE UP.

Works fine

I use this app on my iPad and it works well. No problems.

Speechless

I already had low expectations but Nikon surprised me by making this app worse than I could imagine. Good its for free but this is thats it. Have a look at your competitors solutions, Nikon, and try to learn from them, please.

Does a Good Job

This is a great app if you want to transfer your photos from your Nikon Coolpix Camera to your iOS device. I used an iPadAir and first had to set-up wi-fi to be enabled on the camera then create a password (simple). Then go to the iPad and open the Wi-fi setting and from there touch the Nikon link. From the camera end you want to go to the Connect to device (in Wi-fi mode). Connection was easily establish within a minute give or so. Once done you can freely use the app to view and download your selected photos. If you allow it to access your photos then you can view them in your device or iPads Photos App. I used the app to remotely take a few photos and worked but takes some getting used to the delay in viewing whats in the cameras view finder. I am not sure what all the other reviewers were complaining about but I found this a quick and easy way to get the photos of the Camera and onto the iPad wirelessly and after all this is what I wanted it to do. With a PC with USB ports the transfer is easily established through a USB cable...not an option for iPad users...so do download this app it will do the job for you.

Jesus Christ Nikon!!

Absoulety horrid app! Connecting via wifi was a bit of a chore but after a bit of persistence it began to work. But the most disappointing part was that you could not use it to actually start and stop video recording.. Wtf!?? Thats the most basic feature one would expect! Not impressed at all!!!

Most frustrating experience

It is really sad that a company like Nikon allowed this useless application to carry their name. The user interface is terrible, the camera keeps disconnecting in the middle of a download, it is impossible to transfer RAW files (convert it to JPEG on camera first) and it is just a frustrating experience altogether. I wish I could rate ZERO stars to this poorly designed and executed application.

Crap!

This is a piece of crap! Great camera however with so many individuals now using wireless devices for downloading and for remote access and viewing.. this is a major disappointment. Maybe I was expecting too much considering I also use a GoPro and the ap for it is amazing! Oh well…..maybe Nikon will read these reviews and rethink the product offering. At lsat I hope since I just invested major $$$ on a Nikon D750.

Great

This app works extremely well. Review #15 explains it very well. I had no trouble setting up wifi connection whatsoever.

High school project...?

Come on, be honest. Did someone get their kid in high school to code this over the weekend? Have to say I expected much more after buying such a fantastic camera. Disappointed.

Works well but has one major issue

The app has had several effective fixes since being released in 2012 but one annoying one remains. Geotagging the photos either on the camera when the picture is taken using the app or when downloading pictures with the app to an iOS device via wifi only which takes location information from the iOS device, transfers the latitude but the longitude is all zeros. So on a map it looks like my pictures were all taken along the prime meridian. That shows mine in France although they were taken in Canada. If you use the optional Nikon GP-1 (which is a little slow to pick up a satellite signal) to tag the photos before transferring them with the app the geotagging coordinates will be correctly received on the iOS device -a cumbersome and expensive work around. In summary, a very useful app with one annoying drawback.

App needs serious fix

This app designed for iOS 5 devices. Nikon has to update ASAP. This app takes so long to connect the device and keeps disconnecting. Nikon has to fire their app developers for such a poor work.

Works great!

Works perfectly fine for me on an iPhone 5c
